Ottawa itself and its commuter ring (Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth) then up the Valley proper through Arnprior and Renfrew to Pembroke and Petawawa, where the river towns and their campgrounds string along Highway 17.
Storm alley earns its name
The Valley’s weather résumé speaks for itself: the May 2022 derecho drove winds near 190 km/h down this corridor and became the most damaging storm in Hydro Ottawa’s history, and RVs, tall-sided and light, catch that kind of wind badly. Between headline storms, the river corridor funnels squalls and microbursts that drop limbs on parked units every season. Storm-damage documentation is a bigger share of our work here than anywhere else on the map.
The background climate is no gentler. Ottawa winters run colder than anywhere else in our southern range (a continental deep-freeze that embrittles sealant) followed by humid summers that keep any opened seam wet. Roofs here need their storm damage documented fast and their seams maintained on a schedule.

Fitzroy Harbour & the Ottawa River parks
The provincial park where the Carp River meets the Ottawa anchors the river-camping corridor west of the city. Seasonal units here sit under big pines that storms like to prune.
The Petawawa-Pembroke corridor
A strong military-family RV community around the garrison keeps this end of the Valley busy. Postings mean units change hands often, and pre-purchase roof inspections are a smart Valley habit.
Bonnechere & the inland lakes

I’m posted to Petawawa and just bought a used trailer. Worth an inspection?
Very much. Units change hands often around a garrison town, and a documented roof inspection tells you what you actually bought. If it’s sound, you have a baseline; if it isn’t, you have photos and options before the first long weekend.
